Is it okay to love yourself? You bet! Then why do we often equate self-love with vanity? Why is it that many girls and women acquire the habit of treating others with more love and kindness than themselves?
Denying ourselves the love that we need is a form of self-neglect – anorexia of the heart. Starved for nourishment, our life force fades and becomes vulnerable to damage from negative threats such as disrespect and violence.
It is vital to our well-being that we nourish ourselves with a healthy measure of self-love. On Valentine’s Day:
- Dare to love yourself more.
- Be generous to you.
- Forgive yourself over and over again.
- Be your own best friend.
Loving yourself is your best chance at happiness and success in this life. In the immortal words of the
